First Comes Love, Then Comes Skincare: The Bridal Beauty Guide

Congratulations, bride: 2023 wedding season is officially here, which means your big day is closer than ever! You’ve likely already spent months ensuring that every detail of your wedding day will be picture-perfect, from the florals for your ceremony to your reception dress, your pre-wedding skincare routine deserves the same level of consideration. That’s why we put together a curated skincare timeline to help you achieve that just-married glow.

One Year Out
The 12-month mark is the best time to make an appointment with your dermatologist to address any skin, hair, or nail concerns to ensure you can treat them in a timely manner. This is also a good time to discuss any pre-wedding cosmetic treatments you’ve been considering.
Start – and stick to – a professional skincare routine. Your dermatologist can work with you to create a custom skincare plan that aligns with your unique goals and needs.

Six Months Out
Discuss any hair loss concerns with your dermatologist and start a treatment plan. Even if you’re not noticing significant hair loss or thinning, a biotin supplement can help support healthy growth.
Microneedling is one of our most popular bridal treatments for a reason: it stimulates the production of collagen which makes the skin appear smoother, younger, and brighter. If you’ve been considering microneedling, the six-month mark is the time to try it.
If you haven’t already, incorporating retinol into your skincare routine at this time will reduce fine lines and wrinkles by increasing the production of collagen.

Three Months to One Month Out
The three-month mark is the perfect time period to get any injectable treatments, like Botox®. Juvederm®, or Restylane Refyne®. You’ll have several weeks for the fillers to settle while leaving enough time for any necessary touch-up treatments.
Chemical peels are another popular treatment amongst brides because they reveal a brighter, more even layer of skin. Schedule a chemical peel appointment approximately three months from your wedding date.

Two Weeks Out
Try dermaplaning or a “red carpet facial” for radiant, glowing skin.
Don’t skip your A.M. and P.M. skincare routines! Consistency is key in the final weeks leading up to your wedding.

The Day Before
Stay hydrated and stay out of the sun.
You will probably be tired and perhaps a tad overwhelmed on the night before your wedding, so go to bed as early as you can to get lots of beauty sleep. Your under-eyes will thank you in the morning.
